                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO REZONE A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE 3000
                   BLOCK OF SOUTH HICKORY STREET, BEING ON THE
                   NORTHWEST LINE OF SOUTH HICKORY STREET
                   NORTHWEST OF EAST 31ST STREET FROM C-1 HIGHWAY
                   COMMERCIAL DISTRICT TO M-1 MANUFACTURING ZONE.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is 
hereby
         amended so as to rezone:
             
              A tract of land located in the 3000 block of South
              Hickory Street, being on the northwest line of South
              Hickory Street northwest of East 31st Street.  Lots 79,
              80, and 81, part of lots 82, 83, and 84, and the
              southwest 12.5 feet of a 25 foot wide right-of-way
              (abandoned by Ordinance No. 8171 and Ordinance No.
              8766), Clifton Hills Addition No. 1, as shown by plat of
              record in plat book 6, page 17, R.O.H.C., being part of
              the property described in deed book 2332, page 347,
              R.O.H.C., and being all of tax parcels 156I-F-14 and
              14.1, and part of tax parcel 156I-F-13.
             
         from C-1 Highway Commercial District to M-1 Manufacturing Zone.
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, the 
public
         welfare requiring it.
